Plan Your Wardrobe
by Joyce Neave
You plan your work, you plan your social life, now it's time to plan your wardrobe.
How wonderful would it be to get dressed every day without having to think about what to wear, so all you need to focus on your day ahead.
This is a service that I provide for my clients, and I'm going to teach you how to do it yourself. On Sunday take some time and think about what you have coming up in the week.
Check the weather report and see if it's going to rain or if it's going to be cold or hot.
Think about what you will need to wear whether it is business casual one day and something more professional another.
Look at your calendar, do you have the nighttime event, etc?
Then put together outfits that you like, think about how you can change it up a little bit, try new blouse with the suit that you always wear.
The trick is to do it when you're not in a rush. Play with your outfits- mix-and match and try different accessories. Try different shoes. Don't forget about your undergarments, make sure you have everything you need ready to go. Then either make a list or take photos of the outfits that you're going to wear during that week.
One way to get a jump start is to iron or steam all of your clothes for the week. That way everything will be ready to go when you are.
Take inventory of what you have, notice all the details.
Do your shoes need repair? Are your clothes fitting properly?
Often times you will find that when you are trying to put outfits together there's a piece that's missing from your wardrobe, usually it's the shoes.
Make a shopping list so you know what you'll need to get in order to make your outfits complete. Look online or in magazines for inspiration. Look at the people walking down the street, coming in and out of your office. There is inspiration everywhere you turn.
It's summer -look at all the flowers outside -the color combinations that looks so pretty in nature. The key to successful wardrobe is to be inspired and prepared.
And if you still have trouble putting your weekly wardrobe together give me a call, I'm always available to help.
