Q. I will be traveling for business for four days, I need to pack light, but will need to pack clothes for meetings and then more casual for evenings. Can you make suggestions on the best way to accomplish this? A. Absolutely. Begin by looking at your suits. Based on which ones you need to bring, go with a color scheme. If your suits are blacks and grays, you will work in the black family. If your suits are blues and browns, you will work with browns. Let's say you chose black and grey. You pick one black suit (skirt and slacks) and one grey blazer. One or two pairs of black shoes. Two purses-one big bag for day and a small one for the evening. Then for your tops- pack a cardigan set (you can use the shell under a jackets or the set without a jacket), crisp white blouse, and a silk camisole. No lace. Each top will work with each pant, skirt and jacket combo. Think of the possibilities! Use accessories to change up the looks. Try a scarf, gold or silver jewelry. Just make sure your jewelry is not distracting. No jingles. For the evenings, you can just take off the jacket. If you have time, throw on a pair of dark jeans, same shoes, same tops. You will look professional and fabulous! And the best part is that all of it will fit into a carryon bag!
