Business Plan Submission
| |
NMSN members, thanks for your interest in submitting your business plan for review. Matt has graciously agreed to review one business plan per month. Once you've submitted your business plan (as outlined below), you will be contacted by Matt to set up a 30-45 minute counseling session to go over your plan.
In collecting business plans for consideration, we'll be using the "Executive Summary" format that is common for business plan contests. This way you do not need to create a full business plan to submit but can simply create an executive summary that will eventually become a business plan.
In order to be considered for a business plan review -
The Executive Summary should include information on:
- Contact Information
- Company summary
- Customer/market analysis (market size and potential market share)
- Product or service description
- Intellectual property status if applicable (e.g., patents, licenses, etc.)
- Competitive differentiation
- Management team and/or advisors, including relevant experience
- Financial highlights
- Status of the company (start-up, operating, growing, etc....)
- Company needs (how much investment you are seeking or what you think you need to grow/launch your business)
In your executive summary, we expect you to convey:
- The problem or need your company solves
- The size of the accessible market & evidence that customers will buy your product/service
- Your differentiation vs. competition and how you will sustain that
- The experience of your management team and/or advisory boards
- The current state of development (e.g., beta, customer trials, etc.)
- Timeframes to achieve significant revenue and/or cash flow positive
Eligibility:
- Only NMSN paying members in good standing are eligible to submit a business plan for review.
- You must be the author of your business plan or legally own the content that you are submitting.
- Only completed packages (addressing all the topic areas above) will be considered.
Get all this information compiled in a PDF document and submit them as an attachment with "Business Plan Review" in the subject line of the e-mail. Reviews will be considered on a rolling basis, so get them in ASAP!
