What Tutor.com Can Do For You

Printer-Friendly Format

Tutor.com is a sponsor of our quarterly NMSN DC networking events.  They will actually be at our August event to demonstrate some of their capabilities and assist spouses on site.  For those of you who couldn't be there, we thought we'd share a little about what they can do to help you in your job search.

For military spouses, it's a familiar story--you find a job, settle into your new responsibilities, and then your husband or wife is deployed to a new installation.  Before the ink dries on your new-hire paperwork, you have to start the process all over again in another city.

Fortunately, Tutor.com's Career Tutors can help you find a "portable" job and break the cycle.  Career Tutors are available 24/7, and eligible military spouses can work with them for free through Tutor.com for Military Families, a program provided by the Department of Defense.

Career tutors can help you prepare for and navigate the search for a portable job, and assist with things like:

  • finding telecommuting positions so you can work from anywhere
  • updating your resume
  • writing a cover letter
  • preparing for a job interview

Working with Tutor.com's Career Tutors is easy--just visit www.tutor.com/military and follow the instructions for your family's service branch to get a passcode to get started.

Competition is stiff for portable jobs, but free help from a Career Tutor could give you the extra push you need.
