Phil Dyer
Phil Dyer, CFP®, RLP®, CPCC Deputy Director for Financial Education for MOAA Principal, Dyer Financial Advisory Mr. Phil Dyer attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1985. He served on Active Duty as an Armor officer for 5 years with duty assignments in Germany and Ft. Knox, KY and achieved the rank of Captain. He separated from Active Duty in late 1990 to pursue opportunities in the private sector and has had successful careers in corporate sales and as a fee-only financial planner. He joined the staff of MOAA in 2003 and specializes in military financial education, military benefits education, and military-to-civilian transition programs. He has presented over 575 educational briefings for military, corporate, non-profit and educational organizations over the last 14 years and is a noted authority on the Post 9-11 GI Bill. He is a frequent contributor to Military Officer magazine, Military Spouse magazine and Military Money magazine and is regular quoted in the media on military and general financial issues in such publications as Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine, Money magazine, Men's Health magazine, The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, The Chicago Tribune and the Washington Business Journal. In addition to being a Certified Financial Planner, Phil is also a Registered Life Planner and Certified Life and Business Coach. He resides with scenic Baldwin, MD with his wife and two children and enjoys mountain biking, international travel and scuba diving.
